My boy is 15 today ! He’ll still be asleep in New York but the day should be very exciting for him as they are performing in the UN Building (huge amounts of security to go through first) then lolling around in Central Park, shopping at FAO Schwartz and dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, followed by Times Square. My first visit to Special Care to see baby Theo after a marathon labour and birth at West Middlesex Hospital : it’s a wonder I could sit. We had to stay in for another 4 days while he was put under a light for jaundice.
We are having a nice time here, though missing him very much. Lots of eating out and buying stuff always helps ! Went to an Ed’s Easy Diner yesterday for an early supper- if Theo is with us it’s usually Wagamama. Brilliant butterscotch milk shakes. I used to go to the one behind Cambridge Circus years ago and we have now got a branch in Basingstoke – but I rather think Theo will still prefer the lure of the duck gyoza of Waga.
Most exciting new purchase is an iPad which G has secretly bought- tricking me into thinking it was an extra bit for the new Dyson (old hoover finally gave up – actually not so old but not an expensive one-there’s a lesson in that – it used to give up when too hot and bothered and had to be allowed to rest)
Am very thrilled by the iPad as I really want to do some drawing on it – inspired by the Hockney iPad pictures.
Meanwhile, new kitchen tap is being fitted at last- am feeling fairly calm – please let it be ok.
